Hi, I’m Jonnie, an artist living and painting in the North Georgia mountains.
I’ve been drawn to art for as long as I can remember, but my path to becoming an artist wasn’t exactly a straight one. I’ve worked as a graphic designer, photographer, marketing director, and entrepreneur, and all of those pieces of my life somehow found their way back here, to painting.
My work is rooted in nature, but I’m less interested in painting exactly what I see than in painting what it feels like to be there. The way light filters through trees. The colors you remember more vividly than they actually were. The strange little patterns, shapes, and moments you notice when you slow down long enough to really look.
Being AuDHD is also very much a part of the way I create. My brain notices details, connections, colors, patterns, and ideas constantly. Painting gives all of that somewhere to go. I work intuitively and in layers, often letting a painting change direction as I go rather than trying to control exactly where it ends up.
These days, I’m especially drawn to forests, trees, light, and that space somewhere between the recognizable and the abstract. I want my paintings to feel a little like a memory of being outside, familiar, but not completely literal.
Everything here begins as an original piece created by me in my home studio. Whether you’re here for an original painting, a print, or something made from one of my designs, I’m incredibly happy you found your way here.
Welcome to my little corner of the woods. 💜
